When we decided on the name Keira, I immediately sat down and wrote out every possible way to spell her name. Because we have this crazy 5 letter thing going on with our names, I couldn't do it the usual way: Kyra. This is what I came up with instead: Keera, Keara, Keira, Kiera, Kirra, Kyrra. After checking out these options, Keira stuck out to me as the cutest way to spell it. After all, Keira Knightley spells it that way and she's pretty cute, right? (Minus the stick figure body.) Anyway, everyone and their dog has asked me if her name is "Key-ara". No, no, no! This has happened so many times that I've seriously considered changing the spelling. I wrote down the above options again and I still love the way I have more than the others. So I've decided to stick with it and make her live the rest of her life saying, "Its Keira, not /Key-ara". She'll get over it the same way I've gotten used to correcting my name from Chris and Kris!

I'm sorry, but you can't get key-ara out of that. Your spelling totally works. We have the same issue with Regen, but I don't mind because I love her name.
Congrats Kriss! I hadn't heard you had your baby! Beautiful name! She is adorable! I like the spelling too. :) How is life with 4 kiddos? We never got together....I hope we will sometime!
I have a sister-in-law named Kiera which is pronounced key-ara. I love that you admitted to the five letter name thing. We have a four letter name thing going on at our home!
