This is Abbie on the morning of her 8th birthday. Not in the best shape. The day before she had major throat soreness and excessive vomiting. I knew right away that she had strep throat (again), so we wasted no time and went to the doctor. She confirmed what I already knew and sent us on our way with a prescription, and a list of Ear, Nose, and Throat doctors. She will have to get her tonsils out because this is the 3rd time she has had strep in 6 months. The worst part for her is that every time she gets it, she gets a MASSIVE stomach ache and pukes her brains out for a good 2 days. That's not the best way to celebrate your big 8th birthday, but that's how she did it. She muster a few grins while opening presents and seeing her cake...

She has been dying to get this Barbie. This actually caused a small squeal, followed by the biggest smile we saw all day.

Can you believe I got this cake at Walmart? I don't know why, but I think its so cute. (Delicious too, bakery cakes are my favorite treat.)

She's going to have a friend sleepover/late over next week, so her birthday won't be a total bust. I felt really bad for her and actually was excited when she started whining/arguing with me last night because I knew she felt better. She is a one of a kind girl that makes me bust out laughing everyday. She has quite the common sense for a girl her age and isn't afraid to speak her mind. I love that! She rocks my world and I'm so glad she is feeling better!
