Happy Gilmore's Got Nothin On This Kid

When Dylan was about 4 years old, you could always find him outside shooting hoops, hitting baseballs, and swinging his mini golf clubs around. My dad would always say that he had such a natural golf swing for such a young little fart. When he was a little older and played Little League, the coaches would always comment that he was "a low ball hitter". I'm pretty sure that's because he was swinging the bat more like a club than any thing else. Fast forward to 10 years old and he LOVES golf. He plays every summer at a golf course near our house and looks forward to it every year. Yesterday, was the last day of the summer league (but, bonus they are going to have a fall league too). The golf course put on a mini tournament for the kids that had been taking lessons there all summer. They played a total of 9 holes and then after wards they ate pizza and found out if they were good enough to get a trophy. Dylan was awesome enough to get 2nd place in the 10 year old age group. He was really stoked about that and so were we! I think we've found the sport he loves the most, even better that his dad loves it too!

After the tournament, the pizza, and the trophies, I couldn't drag him off the driving range. Everyone else was taking a rest in the shade, but not him. You'd think that after 4 hours of golfing he would be tired of it. I would be tired of it after 4 minutes, but being athletic is just not in my vocabulary! Just ask anyone that knows me well.

Yay Dylan - I'm glad someone likes that sport. I had one lesson and would need several HUNDRED more to be good enough to enjoy it!

Dylan is such a cute, happy, natural at sports kind of guy. I love him to pieces.
