Ist Day of 2nd Grade (Sniff Sniff)

Can it be true? Is my baby really in the 2nd grade? Yes, unfortunately, it is true. Today Dylan started his new adventure into 2nd grade. He was excited and feeling confident about his day. I couldn't wait to pick him up to hear all about it. He talked on and on and on and on about how awesome 2nd grade is, and how it is soooooooooooo much better than 1st Grade. Of course it doesn't hurt that he has the coveted Mrs. Joyce for his teacher. I'm way excited to see everything he learns this year. It does break my heart though that he is growing up so fast. I ask him all the time if he will just stay 7 forever. He looks at me like I'm the biggest doofus. Today I was thinking about his big bucky front teeth and how all too soon his voice will change, and I just got thinking how I really have to enjoy every second with these kids while they are young. I now know why my mom was so bummed when I grew up-it's awesome, but it kinda sucks at the same time, ya know? Anyway, such is life, and next week I get to go through all of this again when Abbie starts Kindergarten. I don't know if my heart can take it!?

I would totally freak out. How come they grow so stinking fast?

Kriss I love your blog and got the address off Melissa's and LaNell's and today I found Heathers as she commented on LaNell's. What a wonderful way to know whats happening in your lives. The kids grow so fast (as you commented on) and I just love seeing all the pictures.

Let me know how the Kindergarten send-off goes. I don't know how I am going to handle Riley "growing up".

You know the first is hard, by the middle it's ok, but the last one is almost as hard as the first. It's fun to see them grow, but they do grow fast.. enjoy them while you can huh?
