Abbie started her first day of Kindergarten on Tuesday. Her teacher had a Build A Bear party for her class the night before so they could make Diamonds the bear. Everyone in the class gets several turns at bringing Diamonds home. It was fun for Abbie to be able to see and meet some of her new classmates. She has been so excited for this whole experience. She has only been waiting for this for almost a year. She missed the school deadline by 15 days, so this last year has been a long one for her.

Here she is stuffing Diamonds with her friend Rylee. Rylee is in our ward so it's nice she knew someone going into this whole thing.
Here we are the morning of the first day. We were first in line at the Kindergarten door because she could not wait to get there! When I asked her if there were any cute boys in her class, she responded by saying, "No, they were all kinda geeky!" Yes, she does think she is at least 13 years old. I then got to have the nice lecture about how we don't call people geeky and we have to be nice to everyone and yada yada yada. Truth is, I thought they were a little geeky too ;). It was a very successful day with her informing me when she got home that she wanted to live at Kindergarten! Then, to make me feel better, she said that she wanted to only if we could live there too. I'm so glad she is enjoying herself. I was the weird kid that cried everyday in Kindergarten. It's such a relief that she is actually enjoying it and not freaked out. The funny thing is that she wants to go to bed now at 7:00 cause she can't wait to get there! I wonder how long that will last?! As far as my emotions went I did a lot better this time around! When Dylan walked into the doors on the first day, I didn't cry, but I did get teary eyed. This time it was not sad at all because I know how ready she is. It is weird to think that I have 2 kids in elementary. Time sure does fly!!!!!

Wow. At least you have some time before Scotty will be there. Having kids in elementary school seems so weird. She's a doll, as always.
I'm glad all of the boys are geeky, just tell her to keep thinking that until she is at least 20. Hallie can't wait for kindergarten either. She just wishes she got to eat lunch at school. I'm glad that I don't have to pack one more lunch yet.
She looked so cute for her first day of school. Riley is so excited to start too. Hopefully he will be good at going to bed and getting up early. I think I will need extra reinforcement in this area.
I can't believe how early school starts there! We don't start till Sept 2nd. Of course we didn't get out till the middle of June. Anyway, come Sept that will be me with Emma, she's the opposite though, her bday is Aug 22nd and the deadline is Sept 1st. So she'll be the young one. We'll see how it goes!
