Why can't Kindergarten be Full Day?

I have totally changed my mind in regards to the above question. I used to think all day Kindergarten was a bad thing, now I realize that I couldn't have been more wrong. After Abbie's enjoyable 3 hour day, she comes home, eats, lunch, we read together, and then what? She makes up games and scenarios to act out. Here are some of them: She made a "toy store" for Scottie (this is where she gets almost everything out that we own and Scott's supposed to pick from the toys), she made a hotel (this is where she gets out every blanket, sleeping bag, alarm clocks, and costumes. We pretend like we live in the hotel and look for London Tipton), she made a castle (this is where she gets kitchen chairs, towels, and Germ X out. I don't really get this game and I'm not sure why castles equal hand sanitizer), she makes me "snacks" (this usually consists of bread with a pile of fish crackers on top). I could go on and on, but I'm tired just thinking about all the crap I get to put away on a daily basis. This is how I found her yesterday, watching Hannah Montana (not on the couch, but with lawn chairs of course)...

I love her imagination, but wonder if her time wouldn't be better spent learning and playing at school rather than making the family room a daily nightmare to clean up! Gotta love Abbs!

I think she is making your family room a daily Wonderland. I get frustrated when my kids make a mess, but I've tried to be more lax about messes, and enjoy their creativity. They are growing up so fast. Before you know it, Abbie isn't going to want to play "hotel" with mommy anymore, so enjoy it while you can. (I know, easier said than done).

We need to get Hallie and Abbie together more often-then we could both benefit from fewer messes! Hallie is constantly putting everything she own into bags and suitcases and then toting it all over the house and into the back yard. Then for some reason, she can't find anything to wear!

All day kindergarten was the bomb. I hope they implement it here before Regen starts.
