As A Non Lover Of Animals, Do Me A Favor...

AND LOCK UP YOUR STUPID DOGS! The above picture is a good representation of what almost happened to me today. (Except, replace the black dog with a slightly overweight, very large German Shepherd.) This afternoon I couldn't believe it was actually not snowing, so me and Scotty went on a walk. I had a moment of weakness and decided to let Bear come along-he could use the exercise. Now while it is a true that I don't like animals of ANY kind, somehow Bear has found a warm place in my heart. He is really one of those loving, loyal kind of dogs people talk about. We were having a nice walk/scoot (Scotty was on his scooter) when I see this horrible junkyard type dog bolting towards us. This dog lives at the house that is the neighborhood embarassment. (You know the type, every neighborhood has one and every neighborhood hates it and talks about what a mess it is.) The funny thing is that we were way down the street from said house minding our business. Well, Bear was on point and ready to attack if that hideous monster tried to get any closer. I was using all my strength to hold him back (remember he is huge) and trying to hold Scotty in my arms while he still has a death grip on his scooter. They barked and barked and I thought we were going to have a full on Michael Vick style dog fight right there on the sidewalk, but we walked back slowly and safely made our way home. Maybe it was good Bear was there, and maybe it wasn't. However, this dog has come after me before and I had no dog with me. I will be calling animal control next time, so if you have an annoying dog like this, LOCK IT UP!

I am so with you! I don't even walk around the neighborhood (unless I am feeling really brave) because I have been chased so many times before by dogs. I don't think as a human being I should have to be scared to enjoy the sun. Come on pet owners!

AMEN!!! Glad you guys were ok.

Oh my goodness. How scary! I am happy you are ok

That sounds terrifying. One of the scariest things about running in the mornings is the stinking dogs. Last summer I planned my route to avoid dogs.

Good Luck. I hope animal control in Ut is more helpful than in OR. I had a pit bull run INTO my house once I was on my porch and Emma was like 3 and in the house with the dog while another pit bull was growling at me on the porch. Animal control was no help. I can't even get started it makes me SO mad!
