Dylan...

Pokemon. It's a really big deal in our house. Dylan is obsessed. The other day we were in JoAnne shopping and he was like, "I wonder if they sell Pokemon here?" Somehow I don't think a craft store has much interest in Pokemon cards. Anyway, yesterday morning we were getting ready for school when Scott got a hold of the oh so precious cards. Dylan took one look and freaked out. This is how the conversation went from there:

Dylan: Scottie you can't have those. I'm so disappointed in you!!! I love you, but I'm disappointed! Ya know mom, it's like Jesus. He loves us, but when we do something wrong, he is disappointed in us.

Oh, who knew he would draw such a comparison over Pokemon cards. I have to say I was impressed with the analogy, he has always been somewhat of a deep thinker. I never expected those cards to bring about such strong emotions!

Oh how funny! Dylan and Riley need to hook up again to trade cards. Riley told me the other day, "Mom, big people just don't get it" (in reference to his cards). He is right. I have no idea what the big deal is. Kids are so funny.

We had a nice discussion about the Plan of Salvation after my boys cried at the end of a Pokemon movie when somebody died (I can't remember if it was a Pokemon or a Trainer). They were both very upset.

Wow, he figured that out young! Who knew that those cards would be so inspiring?

Oh the days when Justin had collections. Brooklyn flushed his most expensive antique pez down the toilet. I think she flushed about 7 of the dispensers, but thank goodness no toilet clog. Then she put a whole container of fish food in the aquarium killing all 20of his unique fish. She gave the hamster a bath and drowned it...and pulled the tail of the lizard as she was swinging it around...lizards do grow back their tails! Little brothers and sisters are fun, but a nightmare as well! I still wonder sometimes if he has forgiven her.

My nephew is too cute and funny. That makes me so proud, even if it was Pokeman. Of course all my nieces and nephews are cute and funny.

Smart boy! Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, we are still blissfully ignorent of the whole "Pokemon" phenomenon. Maybe it will be gone by the time Ashton is old enough to care.
By the way Kriss, I tagged you so look at my blog for the rules.
